There's about twenty minutes before I should start working on my French homework. I realized last night that my uncle was about fifty the last time I saw him, which makes him nearly sixty now. And this of course makes the idea of an afternoon with him and his family even more nerveracking. I made the Key Lime pie last night, it's wrapped up in the refrigerator. If it turns out that they don't eat sweets I might actually cry.And we're reading The Scarlet Letter in class. I've been assigned to read this story before but what I read in class today was the most I've ever read of it. It's such a dense novel and I really do think I prefer Hawthorne's short stories. But I'm reading it one chapter at a time, it's going slowly. I don't think I'm even going to try the preface, that customs house text. Too much.
I got my hair cut yesterday. I went to Supercuts on a whim and when the lady asked me what I wanted her to do I said that I didn't know, I was just tired of it here and there and then she cut a bunch of it off. I think it looks okay.
And that's about it for today, I guess. I saw a girl from high school today and related a funny story about how I saw a boy from high school while I was picking up a year's worth of birth control pills from the pharmacy. I noticed that here in the lab they seem to have restricted cell phone use, and I don't have to listen to ringtones all day. Though that reminds me, I heard the greatest ringtone a few weeks ago. It was the Ride of the Valkyries. It just struck me as funny, that song in a tinny little ringtone rising over the computer noises.
